Democrat Presidential Candidates

Some questions for the First Person wannabes:

Will you raise taxes?
What do you plan to do about the exporting of American jobs?
What are you going to do about the illegal aliens?

Ban Smoking

Ok, ban cigarette smoking. Not because it is a greater health hazard thank alcohol. Not because it destroys more families than does alcohol. Not because the growing, processing, consumption is illegal.

But because it is a cheap target and has been demonized by hypocrites who willingly spend the tax revenues generated after having raised the tax on it.

Perhaps there might be just one small amount of credibility left if an elected official hadn't taken it upon himself to ban a legal product legally used in private businesses, and if Washington state politicians wouldn't scream like stuck pigs if all the smokers in Washington state were to quit today and put an end to the revenue from tobacco sales.

Washington State Budget

You can got lost in this webpage.  If you simply want to see what the Washington state revenue was for 2003 and where it went or perhaps the revenue from gas tax and where it goes.

"LEAP is a bipartisan committee of 4 senators and 4 representatives with a staff of 13 and a budget of $3.5 million for the 2001-03 biennium."

So the taxpayers money was spent on a webpage that obfuscates and is confusing. Perhaps if Washington State hadn't outsourced it's creation to a third world country and had had it done by an unemployed Washington citzen instead....

Long Term Memory Loss

Da Dems rant about lost jobs, medical care for seniors, and education.  They had the White House for 8 years when NAFTA was signed and what did they do?  They rallied around that lying, cheating, constitution busting Slick Willy that's what they dood.

Internet Sales Tax

Time to collect Internet sales tax
Wednesday, January 14, 2004
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER EDITORIAL BOARD

Internet Sales Tax - "lost revenue"? What is "lost" about it? Before the internet there was no internet commerce to brighten the eyes, perk the ears and, wag the tail of politicians who never saw an opportunity to tax and waste more money that they didn't just love.

The economy is just turning around and soon, hopefully, the jobs will follow. But the politicians facing shortfalls due to mismanagement and overspending want to tax services and goods on internet sales.

Well it shouldn't come as any surprise. The "loss" is already calculated before the cost of implementing and collecting taxes. And what about the cost to internet merchants having to comply with collecting and reporting these sums? How many lost small businesses and jobs will it cost to collect the "billions"?

Female Republican

Why would a single female vote the Republican ticket?  Because the Democrats are mean spirited, believe they know how to handle my money better than I do and they use it for those too lazy to get an education, a job, and birth control pills.

I am extremely proud of our President and how he represents the United States to the world and the international actions he's taken on behalf of American citizens and those abused in their own countries.

I do wish President Bush would tell the Hispanic radicals to stick a sock in it.  If they want a free ride they can get on the highway back to where they came from and tell it to their corrupt politicians.

UnAmerican Senior Citizens

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market. A toy company can outsource to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market. A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market. We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico. We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh. We can purchase almost anything we want from many different countries BUT, heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian (Or Mexico) pharmacy. That's called un-American! And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby?

Let the false documentation begin

The illegals are here and working and the laws aren't enforced - let them stay and tax them.
Prostitutes are here and working and the laws apparently aren't - so, legalize and tax them.
Illegal drugs are already in this country and laws haven't stopped them - why not legalize and tax them.
Sexploitation of children exists and is a thriving business but it can't be stopped - then just legalize and tax it.

Why doesn't Mexico clean up their own country and provide jobs for their citizens instead of demanding the United States open it's doors and provide work for them.

If those in this country illegally are so hard working why aren't they working hard in their own countries to make them self-supporting?

High Hypocrisy

Politicians. Before they're elected see the voters as having the wisdom of solomon and while they wouldn't want us to live with them don't mind sharing the same zip code.

Let those rascals get elected and the voters become stupid beyond belief.... We need to be overtaxed to create a surplus, social engineering is implemented to placate the screaming special interest groups, laws are ignored to permit the diseased, criminal, and illegal to obtain entry into the United States, and our Judeo-Christian country becomes a melting pot of tolerence for abhorrent religious practices, anarchists, and rabid unbelievers while it is not longer acceptable to say Merry Christmas or carve the ten commandments on a stone.

I can understand the rationale behind seatbelts and helmets for cyclists and bikers but prohibition of the use of a legal commodity in privately owned businesses is the extreme in hypocrisy and one has to question the legality of an elected/selected government official issuing such a ban.

It is alcohol not tobacco that kills the most people each year. It is alcohol not tobacco that is responsible for the destruction of families and a heavy burden on social services. It is tobacco not alcohol that is overtaxed and forbidden by a growing number elected rascals.

Fate caught up with me when I looked my boss in the eye and told him it was the year 2002 in the United States of America when he told me to make coffee.  After that it went down hill.  Terminated for cause – insubordination.  Hell hath no fury like a boss who has just been ‘dissed’.  Everything was liquidated while I tried to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up.  Rough year while I fought the tides of financial ruin………

Seattle and I have both learned to survive the slings and arrows of misfortune.  But Seattle needs to remember who provides the funds for their many politically correct expenditures.  It isn't the undocumented aliens sending millions south each year while drawing on social services.  Seattle elected leaders need to get their collective heads out of their rectums and stop providing a free ride for the drunk and drugged and illegals standing on the corners of downtown Seattle.
