Horrific act of cruelty

Ours is a household of an American Citizen, Veteran, and proud supporter of President Bush and the war in Iraq.

But those soldiers who abuse Iraqi prisoners should be turned over to the Iraqi government for prosecution.

It was an appallingly horrific act of cruelty.

Minimum Wage

The minimum wage was never meant to support a family. At the entry level raising minimum wages rewards failure to get the education that is offered to all Americans.  Minimum wage as income enhancement is just that. An enhancement.  Rather than fixing the wage why not fix the job.  Each job type  could be fixed with a wage range from entry to experienced level(s).

Outsourced money/jobs

If the argument is that outsourced American jobs promote growth in third world countries can we then cut aid to these countries by the amount lost in American wages?

September 11th Recrimination

Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda.  Those folks who now condemn the current Administration need to stand in front of a mirror to face those who are also culpable for September 11th.

In Seattle – Ferry riders were screaming about their “rights” when the Washington State Patrol tried to screen passengers post September 11th.

Nationally – Airline passengers complain(ed) about their “rights” and inconvenience when weapons screening was established after September 11th.

Airlines have known since the ‘70s that they were vulnerable to terrorist attacks.  But the dollar and passenger inconvenience were the determining factor.

Liberals go on ad nauseam about “profiling” and “civil rights”, pre and post September 11th.

Don’t forget the politicians, at every level, expounding from both sides of their mouths simultaneously while failing to recognize that Federal Law Enforcement agencies were established to act independently, and continued to act against our own best interests even into the new terrorist environment of the last 30 plus years.

The truth is America had been exempt from world terrorism and never considered the horror that was coming.  We paid an awful price for our naivety and now is not the time to tear our country apart when we need to work together to prevent it from happening again.  You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

May God bless America.

History repeats itself

What is the similarity between Anne Boleyn, Professor Anita Hill, Thelma and Louise and Dr. Rice?  All are/were at the no mercy of power mad European males.

U.S. priorities far from Latin America's

"Sadly, official Washington continues to believe that the path to regional integration needs only to be paved by free trade, while many leaders in Latin America, and idealist academics and analysts in this country, still believe that integration will occur through deliberate and generous assistance from the north."

From my point of view:  Mexico has the climate and natural resources to be a very wealthy and self-supporting country.  However, due to the historic ineptitude and/or corruption of the Mexican government the Country of Mexico has ceased being a neighbor and instead has become a worthless relative demanding more and more handouts.  The individual Mexican nationals may be hardworking but Mexico is becoming a not too funny international joke.

I worked the Mexican border with the U.S. Customs service a few years back and every day we crossed shrink wrapped pallets of American cash coming North to American Banks because the Mexican banks couldn't be trusted by their citizens.

Fate caught up with me when I looked my boss in the eye and told him it was the year 2002 in the United States of America when he told me to make coffee.  After that it went down hill.  Terminated for cause – insubordination.  Hell hath no fury like a boss who has just been ‘dissed’.  Everything was liquidated while I tried to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up.  Rough year while I fought the tides of financial ruin………

Seattle and I have both learned to survive the slings and arrows of misfortune.  But Seattle needs to remember who provides the funds for their many politically correct expenditures.  It isn't the undocumented aliens sending millions south each year while drawing on social services.  Seattle elected leaders need to get their collective heads out of their rectums and stop providing a free ride for the drunk and drugged and illegals standing on the corners of downtown Seattle.
